Corrections at Russia Economy
A reliable reference page needs to stay reliable after publication. Russia Economy corrects substantive factual errors and explains meaningful changes on the affected article. A correction is not a new opportunity to repeat an unsupported claim.
Report a possible error
Email [email protected] with the page address, the passage or data value you believe is wrong, and a short explanation. Include the original statistical release, official decision or other reliable evidence when available. Identify the observation period as well as the number: two sources may describe different years or different measures.
Please send only information needed to assess the issue. We do not need passwords, personal account statements or identity documents to review a public economic claim.
How corrections are handled
We compare the disputed material with its cited sources and consider whether a revision, translation problem or methodological difference explains the discrepancy. Where an error is established, the text, table or dataset is changed. Related pages are checked when the same error could affect them.
A substantive correction receives a dated Correction note at the end of the article. The note explains what was wrong and what has changed. A corrected figure should not remain elsewhere in the article without explanation. Minor spelling or formatting fixes that do not change meaning may be made without a correction note.
A correction is different from an update
A correction fixes material that was inaccurate when published. An update incorporates later information, such as a new policy decision or a revised official estimate. An accurately reported first estimate is not automatically an editorial error when the statistical authority revises it.
Updates identify the new evidence and its date. Publication dates are not changed merely to make an unchanged page appear fresh. Our editorial policy and fact-checking standards explain the supporting practices.
